FXA Football is Northern Virginia's (VA/DC/MD) Largest Co-ed, Men's, & Women's Adult Flag Football League with over 480 teams & 7,680 players annually. We offer Team & Individual (Free Agent) Registrations for our Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter Seasons.

FALL '16 SEASON INFORMATION
 
 
          
 

SEASON START DATE:

  • Weeknight Leagues (Sunday - Thursday) = Early September - Early November 2016
  • Weekend Leagues (Saturday & Sunday) = Mid September - Mid November 2016 

CAPTAIN'S MEETING:

  • To Be Determined 
  • This is a Mandatory Meeting, so if the Team Captain is unable to attend, another representative from the team must be present.

  • Co-ed Leagues
    • Tuesday Co-ed League - Social, Casual, Competitive, & Elite Conferences
    • Thursday Co-ed League - Casual & Competitive Conferences
    • Saturday Morning Co-ed League - Casual & Competitive Conferences
    • Saturday Night League - Social Conference w/ Post Game Festivities at a Sponsor Bar
    • Sunday Morning Co-ed League - Casual & Competitive Conferences

    • (NEW) Wednesday Night League - Competitive League only (VFFA rules)
    • Thursday Night League - Casual & Competitive (VFFA Rules) Conferences

Teams can play in multiple leagues, but players cannot play in different conference on the same day. 


SEASON INFORMATION:

  • Each team will play 8 regular season games plus playoffs (if you qualify). 
  • Weeknight (Sunday - Thursday Night) Games will play between 8pm – 11pm on Turf Fields
  • Weekend (Saturday & Sunday Morning) Morning Games will play between 8am - 1pm
  • Women's League games will play between 1pm - 4pm on Sunday Afternoons
  • Playoffs will be held the week following the regular season.
  • The number of teams that make it to the playoffs will be determined by FXA, but is typically the Top Half.

 

TEAM SHIRTS FOR $5:

  • FXA is offering a great deal on Team Shirts.  The shirt is a Gildan 8000 (50% Cotton / 50% Polyester Blend) with DryBlend Moisture Wicking Fabric.  Basically, they are awesome, comfortable t-shirts for only $5 per shirt !  (minimum order is 10 shirts)

  • You can also add #s on the back of the shirt for an additional $5 per shirt. (this is an 8" single or double digit #)
  • Shirts should arrive a few days before the season starts. (depending on when the order was placed)


CO-ED DIVISIONS:

  • Social Division - This division should be played by recreational players only and allows players new to flag football & less experienced players to play a fun game without the intensity or pressure of winning.  This Social division does not have playoffs.
  • Casual Division - This division should be played by experienced (youth, high school, or college) players or very athletic players that are looking for a competitive game built around other strong teams who have played organized flag football for 1 - 3 years.  The Casual Division playoffs will only accept teams with a winning record (above.500) or higher.
  • Competitive Division - With experienced teams and players, this division offers a consistent high level of play and competitive games, best suited for players who have played organized flag football for more than 3 years and are in good physical condition.  The Competitive Division playoffs will accept the top half # of teams.
  • Elite Division - These divisions are our most intense and competitive division. With very experienced teams and players, this division offers an elite level of play and very competitive games, best suited for players who have played organized flag football for more than 4 years and are in great physical condition.  The Elite Division will accept all teams in the playoffs. 

FXA reserves the right to move your team to a different conference at any time including playoffs to competition evenly matched!

 

MEN'S DIVISIONS:

  • Casual Division
    • This division is non-contact (except at the line)
    • Should be played by recreational players only and allows players new to flag football & less experienced players to play a fun game of football
    • Suggested for new FXA teams or teams with under 3 seasons experience.
  • Competitive Division
    • This division uses VFFA Rules (Bump-n-Run, FGs / PATs, & Kick-offs)
    • Should be played by experienced (youth, high school, or college) players or very athletic players that are looking for a competitive game built around other strong teams. 
    • Suggested for teams with 3 - 6 seasons flag football experience.
  • Elite Division
    • This division uses VFFA Rules (Bump-n-Run, FGs / PATs, & Kick-offs) and is our most intense and competitive division.
    • With experienced teams and players, this division offers a consistent high level of play and very competitive games, best suited for players who have played organized flag football for more than 4 years and are in good physical condition.  
    • Suggested for teams with over 6 seasons flag football experience. 

WOMEN'S DIVISIONS:

  • Casual Division
    • This division is non-contact
    • Should be played by recreational & experienced players
    • Suggested for new women's teams or teams with under 6 seasons experience.

 

LEAGUE CHAMPIONS PRIZE: (NEW)

  • Elite League Champions will receive a $450 credit towards next season*
  • Competitive League Champions will receive a $300 credit towards next season*
  • Championship T-shirts to all League Champions*

*Requires 10 or more teams in the league to receive the credit.

 
MAKE-UPS:
  • If a game is canceled due to inclement weather, make-up games may be rescheduled on a different day to keep the season on schedule.  Blast text messages/emails will be sent to all roster players when games are canceled or you can call the FXA Hotline at (703) 382-9111 x20.  It will also be posted on the website, and canceled games will show a red line through them.
  • *Please Note - Depending on the number of teams in each conference, make-up games may be played on a different day to keep the season on schedule.


FIELDS & LOCATIONS:

  • All Saturday Night & Weeknight League Games will be played on Turf Fields located in Fairfax County
  • All Saturday Morning/Afternoon Co-ed Games will play at Lake Fairfax lined grass field
  • All Sunday Morning/Afternoon Co-ed Games will play on Turf Fields
  • All Women's Games will play on lined grass fields in Fairfax County


FEES OWED: 

  • Team Fees:
    • Saturday Night & Weeknight Co-ed Team - $770 per team
    • Weekend Co-ed Team = $725 per team
    • Men's Team - $850 per team
    • Women's Team = $725 per team
  • Individual (Free Agent) Fees (Save 20% Off Leagues at Registration)
    • $40 for Female Individual (Free Agent)
    • $60 for Male Individual (Free Agent) for Co-ed League
    • $65 for Male Individual (Free Agent) for Men's League
  • You must make payment at time of registration.
  • Registration Closes on Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at 11:59pm. 


CO-ED RULES:

  • Each team shall field eight players, with at least three women at all times.
  • Every 3rd play must be a "female play" (see rules for more details).

  • All 8 Players are eligible receivers

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • 8 regular season games (plus playoffs if you qualify)

AGE REQUIREMENTS (NEW):

  • Females must be 18 years or older to participate in FXA.
  • Males must be 21 years or older to participate in FXA


PLAYER REGISTRATION (NEW):

  • Before any player can participate in FXA, he/she must complete the player registration and add them self to the team(s) roster using the registration links sent to the captain (or individual that registered the team) in the registration confirmation email.  It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to make sure every player has completed this player registration.
  • FXA Registration fees are refundable only at the discretion of FXA Football.
